Description
POSITION: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER/CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR OR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR ~ ASHLEY ELEMENTARY
APPLICANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
We are currently looking to hire an Elementary School Social Worker/Clinical Mental Health Counselor or Elementary School Counselor to fill a position at Ashley Elementary School.
District Expectations for an Elementary School Social Worker/Clinical Mental Health Counselor or Elementary School Counselor:
- Teach classroom lessons that promote positive behavior, emotional regulations, and social skills using research-based programs;
- Implement and oversee required documentation;
- Work within a tiered approach through collaboration with other school-based personnel about necessary student needs;
- Provide individual and group counseling services for at-risk students;
- Keep current on community resources to assist schools, families, and students;
- Serve as a liaison between the school district, students, parents, and appropriate community services;
- Collaborate on difficult cases with various agencies;
- Collaborate with district personnel as needed (school social workers, behavior aides, RBT, school psychologist, nurse, etc.);
- Coordinate the required community/parent meetings for suicide and sexual abuse prevention trainings;
- Provide appropriate mental health trainings;
- Assist in district wide crisis planning and response as guided by school and district leadership;
- Work within the guidelines and laws that regulate the educational system;
- Ability to work independently and as a key member of a team;
- Promote conflict resolution and restorative practices to foster positive relationships and reduce disciplinary referrals;
- Use data to assess student needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform decision-making;
- Demonstrate cultural competence and responsiveness in supporting students from diverse backgrounds;
- Other duties as assigned.

- Master’s degree or proof of enrollment from an accredited institution with evidence of a school social work/clinical mental health endorsement or school counseling;
- Copy of DOPL license (if applicable)
- Copy of USBE license (if applicable)
- Provision of undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- Evidence of employment working with school-age children;
- Evidence of ability to work effectively with children, parents, staff, and community by means of a minimum of three letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor.)
SALARY: As per district salary schedule
