TITLE: FACILITIES SUPERVISOR- Bachelor’s degree in Education/School Administration or related field.
- Background with strong emphasis in the area of transportation, buildings and grounds maintenance, safety & security, and custodial services; three years of supervisory and administrative experience in related field.
- Character, personality, and proper social capability to relate effectively with racially and ethnically diverse staff.
- Experience managing budgets and personnel
- Demonstrated experience working in an Indian lands, or large or urban school district.
- Knowledge of State and Federal Laws, regulations, statutes, rules, and policies affecting the business aspect of the district.
- Knowledge of computer technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively both internally and in the community.
- Must possess or obtain a valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.
REPORTS TO: CFO
SUPERVISION OF: Grounds and Maintenance Staff
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the District programs in the areas of buildings and grounds, maintenance, security, teacher’s apartments and transportation to ensure the efficient and effective support for the educational process.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommends and administers such policies and programs as are necessary for the operation of all buildings and grounds. Inspects all school buildings, grounds and installations on a regular basis to determine the standards of workmanship and security.
- Coordinates the work and delegates the workload of all support services department.
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance of all department tools and equipment.
- Plans and supervises energy management systems for district facilities.
- Interacts with Superintendent, Architects/Engineers for planned maintenance and construction projects.
- Recommends the hiring, classification, placement, promotion, suspension, termination and staff training and development for the employees within the departments supervised.
- Assures compliance with all State and Federal Regulations for buildings, zoning and safety codes applicable to District facilities. Files legal reports or compliance documents as may be required or warranted.
- Recommends and administers such policies and programs as are necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the District Transportation Program. Ensures compliance with all appropriate local, county, state or federal regulations concerning this function, including maintenance repair program, driver qualifications and vehicle licensing.
- Operation of the district-wide safety & security program.
- Recommends and administers district wide teacher housing policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
SALARY: Placed on appropriate Salary Schedule according to experience and education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
