The Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting individual teacher development in the areas of instructional design, implementation of research-based instructional practices, progress monitoring, and integration of special education services into the daily programming for students in your assigned Grades, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations mandated for students in general education and with disabilities. *The Instructional Coach position is a year round position.*
Essential Functions:
Assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align to core standards, LEA goals, curriculum, and individual student IEP programming. Work with the building Principal to design and provide professional development in the areas of, but not limited to improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum, as well as IEP writing to increase student success and close performance gaps. Work with teachers and the building Principal to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps. Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom management and instruction for all learners. including conducting informal teacher observations, curriculum fidelity checks, and/or walk-throughs and providing job-embedded professional development that facilitates teacher reflection and growth. Work with building Principal and grade level teachers in planning standards-based lessons and assessments aligned to the district curriculum, including the implementation of technology and innovative strategies. Serve as case manager for student IEPs. Support all teaching staff, especially general education teachers, in developing the IEP. Attend instructional trainings and provide campus level professional development in LEA and state initiatives, including the management and distribution of instructional resources. Provide ongoing feedback to building Principal to be used in the teacher evaluation process, including the development and implementation of teacher intervention plans. Assist in the collection, analysis and response to student performance data. Serve as a member of the campus leadership team, including attending training as assigned. Facilitate a culture of feedback and professional growth with building staff Any other duties as assigned by Building Principal or Director of Academics
Compensation:
Determined by current licensure, pertinent classroom experience, and education attained.
*This position is also eligible for an additional $9,350.00 in educator salary adjustment pay which is determined by a valid, current state license per Utah Code 53F-2-405 and licensure remaining in good standing.
