Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and/or Speech-Language Technician (SLT)
Location: Uintah School District (District-Wide)
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 182-day contract, with benefits
SLP Preferred | SLT Considered
This flexible position supports students with communication needs across general and special education settings. Candidates may apply as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist or as a Speech-Language Technician under SLP supervision. Responsibilities include providing direct services for articulation, language, fluency, and voice, determined by licensure and level of supervision.
(Performed by both SLPs and SLTs; SLTs work under supervision)
- Provide direct speech-language services in articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate communication goals.
- Support student access to curriculum, social engagement, and learning.
- Monitor interventions and document progress.
- Maintain service logs and assist with compliance/Medicaid documentation.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and team members.
- Participate in meetings and instructional planning.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and determine eligibility.
- Develop PLAAFPs and manage IEPs for students receiving services.
- Supervise SLTs and support staff per USBE guidelines.
- Consult with staff and families regarding communication needs.
- Refer to outside agencies as appropriate and collaborate on services.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district documentation standards.
- Implement therapy activities aligned with student IEP goals.
- Collect and document data to support progress monitoring.
- Assist with hearing and speech-language screenings.
- Draft sample goals and therapy activities for SLP review.
- Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain documentation and communication under SLP supervision.
- Perform tasks within USBE SLT scope of practice.
- Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Collaborate effectively with educators, families, and teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA/IDEA.
- Manage time, documentation, and responsibilities efficiently.
- Engage in professional learning and seek feedback.
- Show adaptability, initiative, and positive communication skills.
SLP Candidates:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Utah Professional Educator License with SLP concentration.
- 300+ supervised practicum hours (150 at graduate level).
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred.
- School-based experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders or related field.
- Utah Educator License with SLT endorsement, or enrollment in USBE SLT-ARL program.
- School-based experience preferred.
- Lift at least 45 pounds and assist students as needed.
- Travel between school sites.
- Engage in therapy activities involving bending, standing, and floor work.
