The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

Newcastle High School is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Support & Engagement Teacher who is passionate about fostering student success, driven by data-informed practices, and deeply committed to building a positive and inclusive school climate through strong relationships and proactive support systems. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting school-wide positive behavior frameworks, collaborating effectively with all staff to enhance student engagement, promote campus safety, and coordinate recognition efforts. The role also includes assisting in the coordination of school-wide events, assemblies, and student incentive programs that reinforce a culture of connection, achievement, and belonging for all students. Responsibilities: * Support the implementation and ongoing development of school-wide positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) systems. * Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff to identify and address barriers to student engagement and success. * Utilize data (e.g., attendance, behavior, academic performance) to inform interventions and support strategies. * Develop and implement proactive strategies and programs to enhance student engagement and a positive school climate. * Work collaboratively to promote and maintain a safe and supportive campus environment for all students and staff. * Assist in the planning and execution of school-wide events, assemblies, and student incentive programs. * Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff. * Provide direct support and interventions to students as needed, both individually and in small groups. * Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in student support and engagement. * Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school policy and legal requirements. * Adhere to all school district policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations. * Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Principal or designee.
