Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and diverse employment opportunity with our school. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of K–12 -Physical Education (PE) teacher. Candidates with either a PE endorsement or an Adapted PE (APE) endorsement are eligible to apply. Both specialties will be considered. This position will be working at the Salt Lake campus. Licensed teachers without a PE or APE endorsement will be required to obtain the appropriate endorsement upon hire.
Roles & Responsibilities: As a Physical Education Teacher, you will: -Provide Physical Education and/or Adaptive Physical Education activities to deaf and hard-of-hearing, and multiply disabled students on a daily basis; -Collaborate with other team members to provide appropriate physical activities to meet student goals. -Travel between campuses may be required. -Develops lesson plans and uses a variety of assessment techniques that incorporate the Utah State Core Curriculum, adapts curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilizes effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences for a wide range of students’ needs. -Collect data and provide assessments to develop and complete students' IEPs in a timely manner and implement IEPs. -Perform other duties as assigned.
