Spanish Teacher Grades Prek-2- Must have endorsement required to teach Spanish PreK-12


PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Spanish language instruction for students in grades PreK through 2nd in alignment with developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum standards. Promotes early language acquisition, cultural awareness, and student engagement through immersive and interactive experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Holds a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Spanish Prek-12
• Demonstrates knowledge of second language acquisition in early childhood
• Exhibits the ability to develop age-appropriate lessons that integrate listening, speaking, reading, and cultural exploration
• Demonstrates effective classroom management skills suited to young learners
• Ability to move about in classroom spaces to support students in varied seating and instructional settings
• Ability to travel between schools if assigned to multiple locations
• Capable of preparing required lesson plans and student progress reports
• Demonstrates patience, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills for working with young children, families, and staff
• Competent in using instructional technology and interactive learning tools
• Sufficient physical ability to support and assist students (e.g., able to lift 50 pounds unassisted)
