Our mission is to partner with families to provide a comprehensive educational experiences, character development through leadership, and individualized student learning for college and career readiness.Job Summary The Title I/Reading Specialist/ESL Director will oversee the Title I and Title Alternative Language Services (ALS) programs at ALA. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports student academic achievement, and educational opportunities for all students.
Key Responsibilities Develop and manage Title I and ALS programs to meet the needs of eligible students. Ensure compliance with federal Title I and Title III regulations and Utah State Board of Education requirements. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and support at-risk students and English Language Learners (ELLs). Design and implement professional development for staff on best practices for supporting ELLs and Title I students. Monitor student progress and program effectiveness through data analysis and reporting. Manage budgets, grants, and resources allocated for Title I and Title III programs. Coordinate with community organizations and families to support student success. Meet reporting and data deadlines. Arrange schedules for student services. Manage a team of paraeducators who provide services to students including any professional development, curriculum training, and assessment protocols. Record student information in the school SIS system in relation to government program requirements. Identify areas in which programs and materials are needed. Remain current on laws and regulations of each program and meet with related staff for implementation of changes. Work with the curriculum director to provide high quality instructional materials. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create yearly plans using data to drive improvement plans. Provide support to teachers and provide strategies to improve instruction that will support literacy growth across the curriculum. Celebrate student progress in a way that is motivational and includes stakeholders. Ability to use state and federal assessments (WIDA, Acadience, etc.) to determine goals and adjust instruction. Plan and implement parent engagement activities. Maintain ELL student records in school systems. Provide relevant professional learning for teachers.
