CTE / Agricultural Education-Welding Teacher

Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal and CTE Director and following USBE and Tooele County School District standards and objectives, the ideal candidate would be able to to prepare students for careers in agricultural sciences. The educator would be responsible for instructing high school students in agricultural mechanics with a strong emphasis on various welding techniques as outlined by current industry standards and USBE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover different types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, in accordance with USBE standards in Agricultural Mechanics.

· Maintain a safe and organized welding lab environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

· Can teach other Agricultural Education curriculum's including Animal Science.

· Collaborate with other educators and industry professionals to enhance the curriculum and stay updated on the latest advancements in agricultural mechanics and welding technologies.

· Promotes (FFA) and summer agricultural opportunities for students.

· Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

· Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

· Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other district office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Education:

· Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

· Master’s Degree preferred.

Certification/License:

Applicants must have a current Utah teaching license or have the ability to obtain a current Utah teaching license as outlined by the guidelines of the Utah State Board of Education (USBE).

· USBE License Level: Professional

· USBE License Area: Secondary Education (6-12)

· USBE Endorsements: Agricultural Education (CTE/General)

· Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Note for Teachers licensed outside of Utah: Reciprocity with other states regarding licensure is not guaranteed and is contingent on fulfilling minimum license and endorsement requirements for Utah. for more information about obtaining a Utah license go to https://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/licensing

Experience: Successful prior teaching experience or student teaching experience in Ag Mechanics and Welding. Experience with running an FFA chapter preferred.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Contract:

Full time, 187 day, paid over 12 months

Certified Salary Schedule

Benefit eligible at a full-time certified rate

8 days sick leave and 4 days personal leave per fiscal year

Summer Ag contract for summer months
