Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and diverse employment opportunity with our Agency. We are looking for a visionary and dynamic individual to fill our Educator for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing – Preschool Classroom located in Salt Lake City.
Roles & Responsibilities As an Educator, you will: -Provide appropriate bilingual programming for deaf/hard-of-hearing preschool students. -Develops lesson plans that incorporate the Utah State Core Curriculum, adapts curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilizes effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences. -Takes a collaborative role at staffing meetings, IEP meetings, and student transitions, and aids in IEP success through appropriate assessments, including utilizing assessments, goal development, and follow-through of the IEP. -Communicates proficiently with students in the language that provides the best possible access to content and communicates in ways that facilitate learning. -Provides one-on-one instruction, small group instruction, and large group instruction. -Provides immersion opportunities to facilitate language development. -Establish and maintain a standard of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning environment. -Understand and use technological classroom support equipment in student instruction. -Collaborate with families, other preschool teachers, related service providers and staff.
