Social Work Intern

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated MSW (Master of Social Work) Intern to join our team at Advantage Arts Academy for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a graduate-level social work student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment while supporting students' social, emotional, and academic success. The MSW Intern will work closely with the school counselor and other staff members to assist in implementing individualized support plans for students, focusing on developing coping skills, enhancing emotional regulation, and fostering positive behaviors. The intern will also assist in providing counseling services, leading small group sessions, and offering resources for students and families. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to observe and participate in school-wide initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive school culture. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to apply their social work education in a school setting while developing practical skills in case management, crisis intervention, and collaboration with teachers and administrators. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct support to students through individual and small group counseling sessions • Assist in the development of behavior intervention plans and individualized support strategies • Help lead social-emotional learning (SEL) activities • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' needs • Maintain accurate records of student progress and case notes under supervision • Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and team collaborations
