South Summit School District is accepting applications for the Director of Information Technology (IT) to join our dedicated team in South Summit School District. As a district committed achieve academic and character excellence, we are searching for candidates who will assist in refining and improving instructional practices through technology as well as providing support and up-to-date technology for educators and staff. Salary will be based on the 2025-2026 Administrative Salary Schedule with a 243 day contract and will receive 100% paid family medical benefits, retirement/pension, Life/LTD insurance, and paid time off. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree. Preference given to those with educational technology experience. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical skills. Qualifications: • Technology Leadership & Compliance: Ensure IT operation align with district goals and compliance requirements. Mange networks, security, software, and instructional technology. • Infrastructure & Security: Maintain and enhance network operations, building security, key card access, cybersecurity, and filtering systems. Oversee SSIS (PowerSchool preferred) for accuracy and efficiency. • Project Management: Oversee IT projects, coordinate implementations, and support district-wide technology initiatives. Research emerging technologies to enhance district operations. • Budget & Resource Management: Monitor IT budgets, allocate resources effectively, and explore grant opportunities. • Support & Training: Provide technical support, troubleshoot system issues, and train staff on new technologies. Facilitate meetings and workshops to promote IT best practices. • Personnel Management: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate IT staff, ensuring professional development and team efficiency. • Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison between the district and technology providers, respond to stakeholder concerns, and communicate IT policies effectively. SKILLS: • Expertise in networking technologies, cybersecurity, and instructional software • Strong organizational, project management, and budgeting skills • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions • Effective communication and leadership skills • Commitment to confidentiality, teamwork, and a student-focused approach The IT Director is vital in supporting the district’s strategic plan, prioritizing student and employee success through effective technology integration. The IT Director reports directly to the Superintendent.
