Description
Newcastle Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Summer Groundskeeper/Maintenance worker to join our Operations team for the 2026 summer season. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our students and community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Turf Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, and edging district lawns and athletic fields.
Landscaping: Maintaining flowerbeds (weeding/cleaning) and managing tree limbs or brush removal.
General Upkeep: Debris removal and general outdoor cleaning across various school sites.
Equipment Operation: Safe operation of commercial mowers, weed eaters, and hand tools.
Position Details:
Employment Type: Temporary / Seasonal / Part-time.
Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Duration: Position terminates on July 30.
Classification: Non-exempt.
Compensation: [Insert Hourly Rate or "Competitive"]
Job Qualifications Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
Licensure: Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting and carrying 40+ pounds frequently.
Environmental Stamina: Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various summer weather conditions.
Experience: Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping is preferred but not required.
