The Middle School Instructional Coach & Intervention Specialist is a dynamic and collaborative role designed to support instructional excellence and student success through coaching, professional development, and targeted interventions. This individual will work closely with teachers to improve instructional practices, implement evidence-based strategies, and oversee interventions for students who need additional academic support. The position will also ensure that all interventions align with the school’s academic goals and help drive continuous improvement in student achievement. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Coaching: Collaborate with teachers to improve classroom instruction through the observation, feedback, and modeling of best teaching practices. Provide ongoing, personalized coaching to teachers in the areas of lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and assessment techniques. Lead professional development sessions and workshops on instructional strategies, curriculum development, and assessment methods. Support teachers in analyzing student data to adjust instruction and set individualized learning goals. Facilitate peer observations and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture among the teaching staff. Intervention Coordination: Oversee and coordinate academic intervention programs for students requiring additional support in areas such as reading, math, and other core subjects. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to identify students who need interventions based on assessment data and classroom performance. Develop and implement effective intervention strategies, ensuring they are tailored to meet students' needs and aligned with best practices. Monitor the progress of students receiving interventions, adjusting strategies and providing additional support as needed. Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention plans, and outcomes. Lead intervention meetings with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure the success of at-risk students. Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison between teachers, administration, and support staff to ensure the successful implementation of instructional strategies and interventions. Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, intervention plans, and academic goals. Participate in school-wide committees and initiatives focused on student achievement, curriculum development, and professional learning. Assessment & Data Analysis: Analyze student performance data to inform instruction, intervention strategies, and program effectiveness. Use assessment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for instructional improvement. Provide recommendations for adjusting curriculum and teaching practices based on data analysis.
