SUMMARY:  The Coordinator will serve as a member of the Teaching and Learning team with specific duties related to federal programs and instructional support. This role provides leadership and guidance in the administration, implementation, and compliance of federal education programs to enhance student achievement. This role ensures that federal funding is effectively utilized to support instructional initiatives, professional development, and equitable access to resources. The coordinator collaborates with district and school leaders to align federally funded programs with instructional best practices, assessment strategies, and targeted student interventions. Additionally, the position oversees compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring accountability and maximizing the impact of grant-funded initiatives on teaching and learning.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: These statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

  1. Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and management of federal programs and state programs (e.g., Title I-A, Title I-A Neg., II-A, IV-A, CDAP, CARES Act, ESSER, SRA, OTEP) to support student achievement and instructional improvement.  

  2. Ensure that federal and state funding aligns with district priorities, instructional goals, and equity-driven initiatives.  

  3. Develop, submit, and monitor grant applications, budgets, and reports in accordance with federal, state, and district policies.  

  4. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and conduct regular program evaluations.  

  5. Coordinate audits, monitoring visits, and corrective action plans to maintain program integrity.  

  6. Collaborate with curriculum and instructional teams to integrate federally funded initiatives into district teaching and learning strategies.  

  7. Support the implementation of evidence-based interventions for at-risk students.

  8. Provide professional learning opportunities and guidance for educators on the effective use of federal resources to enhance instruction.

  9. Analyze student achievement and program performance data to inform instructional decisions and measure grant impact.  

 
  1. Serve as a liaison between the district, state agencies, and community partners on matters related to federal programs and instructional supports.  

  2. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous program improvement.

  3. Partner with other appropriate departments for effective use and management of federal grants.

  4. Provide support for other coordinators within Teaching and Learning to provide coverage of duties during and after normal office hours.

  5. Collaborate with coordinators and administrators on a regular basis to monitor the effectiveness instructional supports for teachers district wide.

  6. Research, identify, evaluate, and instructional resources as related for federal grant specifics.

  7. Identify needs, propose solutions, create processes, and provide ongoing support in various areas of various federal, state, and local funds.

  8. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all district personnel to support instructional needs within the district.

  9. Plan, develop, and implement professional development related to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for district personnel as needed.

  10. Assist the Directors of Instructional Services in the general administration of the Teaching and Learning department culture through leadership.

  11. Collaborate within the Teaching and Learning department to maximize support for the district.

  12. Collaborate with district reading specialists and interventionists to construct meaningful PLC agendas for district and site level professional development and district collaboration time.

  13. Attend state and area consortium meetings.

  14. Assist with district accreditation items.

  15. Manage and assist with various projects.

  16. All other duties as assigned by the administrator.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required

  2. Master’s Degree preferred

  3. Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate

  4. Minimum three (3) years as a classroom teacher

  5. Leadership experience preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  Demonstrate leadership and strategic thinking to guide schools in implementing high-quality instructional supports. The ability to collaborate with diverse teams fosters a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility for student success. Advocacy skills ensure that schools receive the necessary resources and support to meet federal guidelines while prioritizing student needs. Attention to detail and organizational acumen are crucial for managing budgets, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance. Adaptability and resilience enable coordinators to respond effectively to policy changes and emerging educational challenges. Understanding of Oklahoma State Department of Education regulations related to curriculum and instruction.  Ability to follow all district policies and procedures.  Ability to work independently, displaying initiative and enthusiasm for the tasks being done.  Demonstrating strong communication skills, orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, team members, and administrators.  Ability to work without supervision, and work as a team player.  Ability to document records accurately.  Ability to manage confidential information in a manner that respects students, families, and employees.  Ability to listen effectively.  

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language including common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from school district personnel, regulatory agencies, or patrons from the community.  Ability to effectively present information to school personnel, district leaders, and public groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS:  Current driver’s license in good standing.
