NATURE & SCOPE:
The Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality science instruction within a clinical treatment setting, ensuring that each student's educational needs align with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This role requires a commitment to academic excellence, classroom management, and collaboration with clinical teams to support student success. The Science Teacher will create an engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and academic growth while maintaining Heritage's commitment to therapeutic education.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons that support students' academic and personal development. Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, incorporating clinical treatment and IEP goals into the curriculum. Assess and evaluate student progress using formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies. Foster a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Collaborate with clinical teams, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for student success. Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-related conferences. Supervise students during class and designated school activities to ensure their safety and well-being. Uphold Heritage's mission and values, modeling professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions. Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as assigned. Complete additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
