Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: School Counselor (K-12) (Level 1), School Counselor (K-12) (Level 2), School Counselor (K-12) (Level 3).
The license position area must be in Counselor/Guidance.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 10th, 11th, 12th.

Description
The NUAMES North School Counselor is a critical stakeholder that is a leader, collaborator, and advocate for the success of every student. NUAMES provides a unique opportunity for students to receive individualized attention from the counseling department to provide academic, social, emotional, and life skills development. This position will require being able to do effective CCR meetings with high school students who may be in the early college program along with students who will have varying degrees of association with college courses. Some students will not enter the early college program and will take only high school courses for the duration of their high school experience. The candidate for this position must be able to work with all students. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to perform other duties such as researching and disseminating scholarship information to parents and students, making preparations for the scholarship banquet, making sure students are on track for graduation, planning and carrying out graduation exercises, and collaborating with other counselors, administrators, and teachers. Seniors and juniors are required to attend one seminar a month and counselors are responsible for planning and providing valuable information at these seminars. The position may also include other duties as assigned. "Above and Beyond" is a phrase that is used frequently at NUAMES and is a basic expectation of all employees. High performing employees are eligible for a significant financial bonus four times per year. This position is for our NUAMES North (Ogden) campus.
