Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and gratifying employment opportunity in the new Early Childhood Division of the School for the Blind. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as an Educator for the Blind/Low Vision Preschool Classroom located in Salt Lake City.
Roles and Responsibilities: As an Educator you will: -Receive mentoring and support from a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team of early childhood professionals -Perform the duties of a classroom instructor for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, Blind/Visually Impaired (B/VI) division -Provide appropriate programming for blind/visually impaired students, three to five years of age, -Maintain safe and healthy practices. -Conduct IEP meetings, collaboratively develop IEP goals, implement and monitor goals and report progress. -Prepare daily schedules, lesson plans, for individual, small and whole group activities, that are engaging and developmental appropriate. -Generate information/reports on children as appropriate -Advise and teach parents in the area of blindness/visual impairment -Provide and maintain equipment/materials -Take a collaborative role at staffing meetings, trainings, PLC’s, etc. -Perform other duties as assigned.
