Description

TITLE:  PSYCHOLOGIST
 
  QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in School Psychology.
  • Arizona State School Psychologist Certification or Arizona State Psychologist License. 
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Previous school experience preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Paradise Schools may find appropriately acceptable.

WORKS CLOSELY WITH:   Exceptional Student Services Director, principals and teaching staff.
  
JOB GOALS:  The Psychologist hereby agrees to devote such time, skill, labor and attention necessary during the term of this agreement to faithfull
y  perform any and all necessary duties encompassed in the position stated above which shall include the following duties:                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1.  Pre-referral process...

  • Participate in pre-referral parent/staff meetings
  • Consult with teachers, parents and staff to provide resources and recommendations regarding academic, social/emotional, and behavioral concerns.
 
  Multi-Disciplinary Eligibility Team (MET) and Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s).
  • Collaborate with team to determine evaluation tools needed to determine student’s eligibility for special education students.
  • Use a collection of assessment tools to evaluate students to determine eligibility within the classifications described in federal and state statutes.
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of students.
  • Provide written evaluation report indicating specific results, summary and recommendations.  Report needs to meet state and federal mandates.
  • Present results of evaluation to Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Review transferring psychological/MET results from other districts to assess all state and federal criteria are present.
  • Collaborate with IEP team to develop appropriate IEP plans for qualifying students.
 
         C.  Any and all obligations, duties and responsibilities imposed upon the position by laws duly promulgated and effective in the State of 
               Arizona.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  160 days per year.  Hours to be determined by Campus Adminstrator.

EVALUATION:  At least annually by Campus Administrator and Exceptional Student Services Director.
