JOB TITLE: Summer Master Teacher - SPARK

SUMMARY: The role of the SPARK Summer Master Teacher is to create enriching programming that will provide childcare to students during SPARK summer camp hours. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but also to provide instruction and educational support, often working in coordination with the school or district. They will develop, create, and implement lesson plans, supervise activities that support their camp theme, and work under the direction of the site leader.

Facilitate core programming to advance the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain safe conditions for all students and staff.
Work with the Program Director and Site Leader to make appropriate referrals as needed.
Contribute to the overall success of the program by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and school site partners.
Assist students with activities related to the camp curriculum.
Meet with and participate in any planning/training meetings set forth by the program director.
All other duties as assigned by the administrator.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
Certified Teaching Experience required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Great interpersonal skills and exceptional time management; Computer literate; excellent written and oral communication ability; strong knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and laws applicable to education and special education; expertise in Oklahoma State Department of Education regulations related to curriculum and instruction. Ability to follow all district policies and procedures. Demonstrating strong communication skills, orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, team members, and administrators. Ability to work without supervision, and work as a team player. Ability to document records accurately. Ability to manage confidential information in a manner that respects students, families, and employees. Ability to listen effectively. Ability to maintain emotional control under stressful situations and when working with students exhibiting non-compliant behaviors.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
