Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with students with a variety of learning disabilities and other exceptionalities, and a passion for helping all students succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings. Collaborate with general education teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and support as needed. Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, goals, and challenges. Advocate for students by working closely with school leadership and other staff members to ensure educational accommodations are in place. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation and progress reports. Provide emotional and behavioral support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education. Support the social and emotional well-being of students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
