Description

South Summit High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Agriculture Teacher to lead our agricultural education program and serve as the FFA Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a highly supportive community with a strong and successful FFA program that is deeply valued by students, parents, and local stakeholders. Position Overview: This position includes serving as the FFA Advisor and overseeing students in the Summer Agriculture Program, which provides extended learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities: • Integrate real-world applications and industry-relevant skills into classroom instruction. • Serve as the FFA Advisor, overseeing chapter activities, competitions, and leadership development. • Manage and run the Summer Agriculture Program, working with students on supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs) and other extended learning projects. • Foster community partnerships to support agricultural education and student opportunities. • Assist students in preparing for FFA competitions, leadership development events, and career development experiences (CDEs and LDEs). • Maintain and manage agriculture program facilities, equipment, and resources. • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and industry professionals. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education or a related field (preferred) • CTE Endorsements in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Natural Resource Science, and Plant & Soil Science (preferred) • Experience in agricultural education, FFA leadership, and hands-on instruction • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships Applicants must be fingerprinted and satisfactorily pass an employment background check.
