Education Assistant

Copper Hills Youth Center, a residential treatment for teens in West Jordan, Utah is accepting applications for a full time education assistant. The qualified candidate must have previous experience working with teens, preferably in a school setting.

• Must possess good organizational skills • Needs to be able to manage competing demands • Should be familiar with Word and Excel • Should be comfortable with utilizing technology (PCs, Chromebooks and classroom projectors) • Possess effective verbal and written communications skills. • Must feel comfortable in managing a classroom, implement lesson plans during a teacher’s absence and being able to identify basic teaching materials in the event of unplanned teacher absences. • Must be comfortable setting limits with teens and helping student learn to follow school rules and expectations. • Will be trained to administer student achievement testing, requesting student records, conducting credit assessments and the use our online student information system/gradebook.
