Position Overview Newcastle Elementary School (NES) is seeking a visionary and collaborative Instructional Coach to join our leadership team. This role is designed for an expert educator who is passionate about adult learning and dedicated to elevating teacher practice to improve student outcomes. As an Instructional Coach, you will serve as a bridge between data-driven insights and classroom execution, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Individualized Coaching: Conduct non-evaluative coaching cycles (observation, modeling, and feedback) to support teachers in meeting professional and student-growth goals.
Data Leadership: Facilitate the analysis of state and local assessment data to identify achievement gaps and assist teachers in developing targeted intervention strategies (RTI/MTSS).
Professional Development: Design and lead high-impact PD sessions and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on evidence-based instructional strategies and curriculum alignment.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with school administration to develop and maintain systems, structures, and instructional frameworks that support the school’s long-term improvement plan.
Resource Support: Curate and provide instructional resources, tools, and best practices to support diverse learners and classroom engagement.
Enhanced Qualifications Required Education & Certification
Certification: Valid Oklahoma Elementary Education Certification (Required).
Advanced Degree: Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or Educational Leadership (Strongly Preferred).
Experience & Skills
Proven Track Record: Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience with documented evidence of student growth.
Leadership Ability: Previous experience in a teacher-leadership role (e.g., Department Head, Grade Level Lead, or Mentor Teacher) is highly desirable.
Data Fluency: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data sets to drive instructional decision-making.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, navigate difficult conversations, and motivate adult learners.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using educational technology and data management systems to enhance instruction.
