Description

Job Posting: Special Education Director

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, a passion for fostering student success, and the ability to lead and support staff in implementing best practices for individualized education programs (IEPs). This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and drive positive outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management: Oversee and manage a caseload of students with special needs, ensuring compliance with all IEP requirements and legal mandates.

Program Oversight: Utilize special programs and reporting tools to run reports, monitor progress, send home quarterly progres reports, and make data-driven decisions.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, special education teachers, and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented.

IEP Development: Lead the development and review of IEPs, ensuring that they are comprehensive, achievable, and tailored to meet individual student needs.

Professional Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops for special education teachers and general education teachers, including best practices for de-escalation, child find, differentiation, IEP writing and case management.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, and community members to foster understanding and support for students with special needs.
