Description
Box Elder School District is seeking a highly qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst with knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups, and systems through the application of positive behavior support within the educational setting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Work directly with the special education and general education behavior specialists - Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for decreasing inappropriate behavior; and identifying antecedents - Facilitate team meetings with the identified student’s teachers and parents for the purpose of completing a Functional Behavioral Assessment - Promote highly-specialized positive behavior interventions in which “at risk” students thrive which includes explicit behavior instruction followed by intensive, accelerated, and ample practice opportunities - Provide research-based professional development - Work cooperatively with building administrators to implement research-based positive behavior supports and strategies - Model instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior supports in their classrooms - Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers, and parents - Conduct observations, collect data, and report on program and/or intervention effectiveness - Other duties as assigned
