- Pay scale: Managerial Scale, Grade 13 ($91,471 - $124,197, based on experience)
- Position Length: 12 months

JOB SUMMARY: The Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) provides support through coaching, planning, modeling, co-teaching, training, and data analysis across all content areas. The ITC is responsible for supporting the professional growth and development of all teachers to facilitate learning and independent application of effective instructional technology practices. In addition, the ITC plans and conducts professional learning based on building, teacher, and/or division-based needs. This position is supervised by the building principal and the Supervisor of Curriculum and Professional Learning.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Virginia Department of Education license with any valid teaching endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience in computer technology or willing to pursue appropriate technology training as required by position.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to prepare accurate and detailed documentation.
- Ability to use independent judgment, manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments, and work independently.
- Must demonstrate effective knowledge of and be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population.
- Skill in oral and written communications and the ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential.
- The ability to serve as a role model.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: (including but not limited to the following)
- Uses research-based instructional best practices in the integration of classroom technology to coach and support teachers, differentiate instruction, and provide rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students.
- Collaborates with, coaches, and plans with instructional staff to use best practices, data, and high-impact instructional strategies for instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
- Models effective instructional strategies using technology for teachers in the classroom and during professional development/learning sessions and works with building and division leadership to plan for, model, and promote digital citizenship.
- Uses research-based adult learning strategies to plan for and establish professional learning experiences for instructional and administrative staff that support individual needs and professional growth in instructional technology integration and innovation.
- Collaborates with school and division-based staff regarding effective use of technology tools and resources to systematically collect and analyze pertinent data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
- Supports and assists division instructional staff with planning, projects, programs, initiatives, and professional development/learning, including with the support of all division-supported applications.
- Assists with curriculum and content development to ensure technology integration.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date record of all site-based professional development activities conducted within the assigned school.
- Disseminates information regarding technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology, and professional development opportunities.
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with division-level instructional staff to implement technology enhanced learning experiences addressing content standards and student technology standards.
- Supports the implementation of all state and local technology plans, strategic plans, and professional learning plans.
- Regularly evaluates and reflects on professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences.
- Serves as a member of school planning teams, a member of the new teacher mentor team, and the school-based point-of-contact for instructional technology.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth and keeps skills up-to-date.
- Performs other relevant duties as identified that support the mission and vision of Manassas Park City Schools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with other staff and the public through the
use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions will be required.
