In-person screening interviews will be conducted at the Granite School District offices on November 7th, 9th and 10th of 2023, computer lab portion will be done on November 6th, 7th, and 8th of 2024. Granite School District Administrator

Job Summary
To provide leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of Granite District schools in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with the Granite School District Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.
To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development.
Essential Functions
- Assists in the development and administration of school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives, including the Granite Way.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Promote a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and proficiency based student learning.
- Support students' behavioral goals and administers and properly documents student discipline.
- Assist in ensuring that Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, and/or by conducting research.
- Encourage staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.
- Observe and supports teacher professional learning communities.
- Coordinate the work of school staff and school district program leaders to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs.
- Conduct the recruitment and selection of employees, the proper maintenance of employee personnel files, the administration of collective bargaining agreements, corrective action, and other human resource issues.
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure that student conduct and attendance adheres to school standards and school district policies.
- Supervise and evaluates career teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the Granite School District's evaluation policies, and makes recommendations regarding goals and areas needing improvement.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and other district office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of USBE core curriculum standards and concepts.
- Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to keep consistent and accurate documentation.

- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

- Supervision of staff and students requires both indoor and outdoor responsibilities (e.g. recess duty, gymnasium activities, etc.) in all types of weather and air quality.
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Ability to talk or hear. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to focus. Physical demands require moving and lifting supplies, equipment, etc. up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- While performing the duties of this job, the principal is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The principal is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The principal is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- The principal must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Required Training and Education
- Applicant must have a current Utah Administrative/Supervisory License no later than July 1, 2025 to be accepted as an applicant
- In and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their current state license with their application in order to be considered
- Applicants who do not have their official administrative license yet, should upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license, verifying date of graduation, and that the applicant is in good standing making progress toward licensure completion. Applicants must have Utah Administrative/Supervisory License no later than July 1, 2025
- Requires a Utah State Board of Education cleared criminal background check
- Successful teaching experience in elementary, secondary or special education
