SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Director of Fine Arts and Choral Music Department Chair, this support position has the primary purpose of supplying musical piano accompaniment for choir classes and performances, as well as act as support to the district performing arts program and students.

Provide professional level piano accompaniment for rehearsals and sectionals as scheduled by the choral music team within assigned allotment of weekly hours.
Accompany choruses for scheduled performances and dress rehearsals.
Prepare rehearsal recordings as requested.
Meet/communicate with Choral Dept. chair and Director of Fine Arts as needed.
Promote and advocate for student learning in the choral music program
May need to transport or travel with students for school related activities.
Assists choral music team to align the curriculum, providing the best academic, social, and artistic learning environment for all students..
Assist choral directors in maintaining a successful learning atmosphere..
Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, with tact, discretion, and courtesy.
Provide other assistance as requested and agreed upon.
Lead student sectionals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Ability to read open score choral music and accompaniments of varying difficulty levels
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None. District substitute training may be requested.

The position requires the employee to talk, hear, and perform standard piano literature. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Very limited exposure to physical risk. Sound levels will be that of a typical high school chorus and grand piano with minimal noise caused by phone calls and printers. Working extra in the evening or on weekends may be necessary during certain times of the year for additional hours.
