POSITION: CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT FACILITATOR ~ UINTAH HIGH SCHOOL
(Up to 29.5 hours per week, voucher position, no benefits)
District Expectations for Concurrent Enrollment Facilitator
The Concurrent Enrollment Classroom Facilitator provides essential support to instructors and students enrolled in concurrent enrollment courses, ensuring a conducive learning environment and assisting in the successful implementation of the program. This part-time position (29.5 hours per week) includes responsibilities related to classroom technology, particularly managing and operating distance learning systems. The facilitator will work to ensure the smooth running of both in-person and remote learning environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the concurrent enrollment instructor with classroom management, preparation of materials, and organization of lessons.
- Provide individual and group support to students to facilitate their understanding and engagement with concurrent enrollment coursework.
- Maintain and manage student attendance, assignments, and grade tracking as required by the school and higher education institution.
- Support students in navigating online platforms and learning management systems associated with concurrent enrollment courses.
- Serve as a liaison between the high school, the concurrent enrollment instructor, and the higher education institution offering the concurrent courses.
- Assist with ensuring that all classroom technology is functioning properly, including computers, projectors, and internet connectivity.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the instructor regarding any challenges or areas for additional support.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant school, district, and higher education policies, especially those regarding student privacy (e.g., FERPA).
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.
- Assist with logistics for concurrent enrollment programs, including the coordination of guest lectures, field trips, and testing schedules.
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff as needed to provide information about concurrent enrollment expectations and performance.
- Attend Concurrent Enrollment and Early College State trainings.
- Communicate and liaise with counselors, administration, and institutions of higher education.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a high school or post-secondary environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Proficiency in educational technology, including online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite, is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, other educational professionals, and students.
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including at least one from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor), which address the candidate’s skills at working effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members.
