Overview: Mountain Sunrise Academy is a Waldorf-inspired free public charter school in Utah County. We are located on the border of Saratoga Springs and Lehi, on the banks of beautiful Utah lake, surrounded by the majestic Wasatch Mountain range. We build capacities in a child’s academic, social/emotional realm, and in their will, often called “head, heart, and hands.” We value arts-integration, experiential learning, and nature! We are seeking a Whole Child Behavior Specialist to facilitate the growth and development of our students, with particular emphasis on disorientation in children.
Description: The Behavior Specialist should have a passion for whole child education, and the personal development and self-reflection to be able to work well in a collegial setting. They will chair the Behavior Support stream of the Integrative Students Support System. They will assist the executive team to develop and then coordinate behavior plans for children who are being serviced through the Support System. The Behavior specialist will work collaboratively with the faculty, school leadership, and parents, to ensure a learning climate that is nurturing, respectful, and safe for all students.
Responsibilities:
Chair the Behavior Stream of the Integrative Student Support System
Help implement student behavior plans for success in classroom and at recess
Implement inclusion practices at recess
Care for the physical and emotional well-being of the children
Work with individual children who need guidance
Support classroom teachers with student accommodations
Work with Special Education teachers to implement behavior plans
Enter and track data related to behavior

Registered Behavior Technician
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma (minimum age of 18); Preferred- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
5+ years of experience working with behavior support for children
Interest in Curative Education and Integrative Student Support
Experience working with children with behavioral challenges
Pass background check
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to get up/down off the floor, move quickly, kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push, pull, and have good situational awareness
- Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skill, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations
- Capability to nurture and build strong relationships with students and families to ensure student success
