Position General Summary: The Instructor, Florida Scholars Academy (FSA) provides an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to reach their full educational potential. The Instructor, Florida Scholars Academy exhibits a passion for, and dedication to, the remediation, acceleration, and academic growth of at-risk students. This position organizes and implements an instructional program resulting in students achieving academic success in accordance with state policies and laws. This position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects in residential facilities for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice students.
Essential Position Functions:
Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s) that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Be responsible for the supervision of students assigned to the class. Conduct roll calls, counts, and maintains attendance records. Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Ensure that order and discipline are maintained in the classroom using effective classroom behavior management techniques.
