Job Summary:

Soldier Hollow Charter School is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to help with our growing school campus. The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Facilities Manager in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of the school’s facilities. This role is essential in ensuring that the school environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. The Assistant Facilities Manager will assist in school facilities upkeep, following maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and school policies as directed by the school Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Management: o Assist in the overall management of school facilities, including classrooms, administrative offices, restrooms, and common areas. o Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement. o Oversee the implementation of maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.

Staff Supervision: o Have the ability to supervise, train, and support custodial staff if needed.

Maintenance and Repairs: o Assist in managing and coordinating repair and maintenance work, including routine and emergency repairs. o Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities are conducted in a timely and effective manner. o Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and inventory of supplies.

Safety and Compliance: o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and school policies. o Conduct safety inspections and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and hazards. o Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with emergency services as needed.

Vendor Management: o Assist in managing relationships with external vendors and contractors. o Coordinate and oversee the work of external service providers to ensure quality and adherence to contractual agreements.

Administrative Duties: o Maintain records related to facilities operations, including maintenance logs, inventory, and equipment. o Prepare reports and documentation as required by the Facilities Manager or school administration. o Assist with budgeting and procurement of supplies and equipment for facilities management.

Communication: o Serve as a point of contact for staff, students, and parents regarding facilities-related concerns. o Communicate effectively with school administration and staff to address facilities issues and provide updates on maintenance activities.
