Gilchrist County School District is a long standing A School District. A peaceful, rural community located in beautiful north central Florida, just 30 miles from Gainesville, the county is known as Spring Capital, as it is home to many natural springs where residents and visitors enjoy swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing/kayaking, boating and fishing along the Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers.
The District is made up of 2 small towns: Bell and Trenton. Each have an Elementary School, and a Middle/High School. We are currently seeking 1 School Psychologist.
The District offers Florida Retirement System (FRS), and the school board pays Employee's medical insurance in full (base plan - all medical plan choices are co-pay options), with employee paid options for dependents. School Board also provides Long Term Disability Insurance and a $15,000 Life/AD&D Group Life Policy to each employee. Employees may also choose dental, vision, voluntary life, short term disability as payroll deductible options. We offer excellent insurance.
Come to Gilchrist where traffic is non-existent, away from the noise, and spend your days working in a rural community setting.
