Stansbury High School Student Support Aide

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the position of At-Risk Aide was established for the purposes of providing support to the instructional programs of Stansbury High School with specific responsibility of supporting school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions and assisting teachers with student plans.

Essential Job Functions
Act in a supervisory and advocacy role during lunch-time for students around the school  
- Act as a liaison with parents, students, and the school. 
- Consistent communication with teachers of student subgroup populations and provide frequent feedback as needed
- Assist with social skills training for student subgroup populations
- Link student to school wide behavioral goals and expectations
- Maintains a variety of detailed records for the purpose of meeting reporting requirements.
- Assists in maintaining documents, files, and records for the purpose of informing teachers, parents, and district personnel of students' progress.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g.students, teachers, administrators, parents, etc) for the purpose of solving problems, providing information, and/or directing to other sources
-Assists special education with filing, file organization, and meeting prep.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.

Travel Requirements
Travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required for certain positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed.
- Ability to understand, apply, and use personal computers and software applications (eg. Word, Excel).
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to communicate with staff, parents, students, and other community members in a respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment
-  Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
     - Must be a minimum of 21 years or older.
     - High School Diploma or equivalent.
     - Prior successful clerical experience preferred.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Contract:
29 hours per week. Equal Pay. Daily schedule to be determined by the Principal.
177 days per year
Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule, Level E1.
