English Language Arts Teacher
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: English, Reading/Language Arts.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program. Expired certifications will be considered.

Join the wonderful staff of Cascade Lodge for Boys!
We are seeking a secondary English Language Arts instructor for immediate hire. Cascade Lodge is a therapeutic boarding school for students between the ages of 13-18 who deal with anxiety and depression. Faculty members teach students at various skill levels, assist in credit recovery, and collaborate with other core subject teachers in integrating curriculum and motivating each student to succeed. Teachers should be able to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and national educational standards. Class sizes are small, allowing teachers to get to know each student as an individual.
The following attributes and responsibilities are desired: * Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation * Ability to maintain academic rigor within a supportive learning environment * Differentiate instruction to best meet the needs of all students in each class * Assess student progress through various methods, such as tests, projects, and assignments * Develop credit recovery options for the subject area * Create an honors track curriculum for the subject area * Be an academic adviser to a group of students to support their success and skill development * Teach ELA elective courses during summer term * Assist service learning coordinator with service projects (along with rest of the academic team) * Collaborate with academic faculty, clinical team and milieu staff * Stay updated on current educational practices and trends in language arts instruction
REQUIRED: Must hold a either a UT Associate Educator or Professional Educator license (formerly Level 1 or Level 2 license) in secondary education (or have the ability to obtain one). An English language arts endorsement is required.
PREFERRED: * Special Education Endorsement * Previous experience teaching language arts at the middle school or high school level * Strong knowledge of language arts curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment methods * Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
