Elevate Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students in Elevate Academy have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. We provide a full curriculum, year-round school as part of helping our students discover a love of learning and confidence while enrolled in Elevate Academy. We are accredited by the Utah State Board of Education as a special education school, maintaining a 1:12 classroom ratio, so that our Teachers can have the individualized and personal focus our students need.
We currently seek to hire a Teacher with Special Education experience for the subject of Math. We will hire an educator who is resourceful, engaging, and edifying to help our students succeed with their education and build skills that will contribute to life-long success! Our approach is tailored education as unique as the individuals engaging in it; thus, we seek a candidate who is innovative in their teaching methods.

Schedule:
Exempt. Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Our academic calendar and contracts are YEAR-ROUND, with two-week breaks in between each term. We seek to hire an incumbent to start as soon as possible.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Understanding of adolescent development, with competence in instructional pedagogy for secondary education. Aptitude of special education, particularly methods to successfully teach students who struggle to focus based on mental health barriers or learning disabilities. Instructional skills that are engaging and edifying, while balanced with diligence and tenacity. Excellent organization skills to provide a physical and academic environment conducive to learning. Even temperament, with ability to mediate situations calmly when students need support due to escalation or frustration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primarily teach lower level integrated math for secondary education. Develop curriculum with clearly defined goals and objectives. Frequently communicate and work with the Academic Advisors to receive updates regarding IEP goals for each student assigned to your classroom. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, submitting grade reports to Academic Advisors on time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Secondary Education, or Math required. Current Utah Educator license, Associate or Professional level. Special Education endorsement required. Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply. Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
