Description
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for assisting the school administrative team in the leadership, coordination, supervision and management of the school program and operation.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, preferably in the area of educational leadership and administration
Virginia Department of Education Postgraduate Professional License for School Administration, valid out-of-state license, or immediate eligibility for Virginia licensure with administrative endorsement
Considerable administrative and teaching experience (preferably at the secondary level)
Ability to establish effective working relationships within a diverse student, parent and school community
Ability to prepare written evaluations and other reports as required by federal, state and local guidelines
Ability to direct the work of others
Responsibilities:
Assist the administrative team in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the philosophy, policies and goals of the School Board; meeting and conferring with students, parents, faculty and staff; maintaining records and files; preparing reports.
Assist the team in the overall administration of the school; interpret and enforce school and school division policies and regulations.
Support the administrative team for Continuous Improvement.
Assist in monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local mandates and guidelines related to local and state testing programs and the local special education program.
Assist in the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body.
Maintain and model high standards of professionalism.
Performs other duties as assigned by the school administrator.

Physical Requirements: Average amount of climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions required.
