Director of The Ranches Academy

The Ranches Academy Charter School is a top performing public K-6 charter school in Eagle Mountain, Utah. The Ranches Academy features an educational program based on the individual needs of each student through a strong focus in reading, spelling, writing, and mathematics; active engagement in the areas of science, social studies, the arts, and physical education; a low student-to-teacher ratio; and emphasis on basic societal values of respect, consideration, cooperation, and honesty. The implementation of evidence-based programs and practices, data-based decision making and individualization, and school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports are central to the school’s mission of academic excellence for every student. We are looking for a leader who positively sets the tone for success and achievement for all students, faculty, and staff while effectively coordinating all educational and administrative activities and programs in collaboration with the assistant director and the governing board. The Director serves as the public face and voice of the school, promotes the school’s mission as described in the charter, and fosters a highly positive and energetic community built on high expectations and growth mindset.

Compensation Package:

Our competitive benefits package currently includes health insurance (100 % of employee premiums are covered and dependents are 90% covered), HSA contribution, life insurance, short term disability, and telemedicine services. -An advanced degree in an academic field of study or in education from an accredited university (MA) -Experience as an administrator with a minimum of 5 years experience in classroom teaching -Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively -Strong financial acuity including a background in budgeting, audit processes, and procurement


-Reinforce the Board’s governance and fiduciary responsibilities by participating in monthly board meetings, developing recommendations for the Board’s consideration and proposing new policies along with updating existing policies -Prepare monthly reports for Governing Board meetings and act as liaison to the Governing Board -Builds and maintains positive relations with local stakeholders, state education departments, other charter schools, and school districts -Ensure compliance and fidelity in The Ranches Academy charter and policies -Develop and oversee the evaluation of the mission, goals, and objectives reflecting The Ranches Academy (Strategic Plan) -Supervise, support, and collaborate in all curricular and program administration -Develop and maintain a positive school/community climate and a safe and healthy environment conducive for academic success -Oversee and manage facilities including buildings, maintenance, custodial, landscaping, parking lots, playgrounds, etc -Abide by all federal and state laws, follow procedures outlined by fiscal policies adopted by the Board and commit to best practices of transparency and collaboration to ensure the integrity of fiscal stewardship -Work with Business Manager to develop yearly budget for Board approval and adhere to approved budget -Ensure compliance and documentation to all federal and state funded programs -Review and approve requisitions, invoices, reimbursements, purchase orders, etc -Draft, consult, approve, and implement all grants -Oversee student enrollment, recruiting, and retention -Analyze student achievement data, draw logical conclusions and prepare comprehensive reports -Work cooperatively with lead teachers and teaching mentors to strengthen the educational program -Evaluate certified staff annually and oversee evaluation of classified staff and other faculty -Assist teachers with instructional techniques, grouping, data analysis, classroom management, parent communication, etc.
