FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Hiring Pay Range $55,000 - $75,000 DOE
Exempt Position
12 Month, 261 Work Days
Work Location: Catalina Foothills High School

Definition:       Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty and supervises maintenance staff and mechanics.  Reviews and assigns all work orders.

Tasks:             

• Plans, schedules, directs, assigns, trains and assists maintenance staff in maintaining buildings, district grounds, school buses and white fleet vehicles in a safe condition;
• Reviews work and assures completion is within acceptable standards;
• Estimates time, labor and materials costs for projects; 
• Coordinates maintenance work with approved outside contractors; 
• Meets with school principals, staff and outsourced transportation vendor regarding maintenance, buses and maintenance concerns for each site; 
• Directly supervises maintenance technicians and bus mechanics;
• Manages and maintains Maintenance and Operations budget for Facilities and Transportation, which involves managing software for bus fleet maintenance, administering contracts, setting up vendors and handling invoicing;
• Performs periodic inspection of facilities, grounds, buses and white fleet to identify current and future maintenance and needs; 
• Maintains records in accordance with OSHA, EPA and ACC, and State requirements.  Orders parts and materials for maintenance staff and bus mechanics; 
• Trains staff in safe operation and maintenance of equipment and tools; 
• Works under the Director of Facilities and Transportation in tandem with the Facilities Project Manager.  Is on-call for emergencies, 24 hours, 7 days per week;
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

• Knowledge of major building maintenance trades, including painting, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, mechanical and automotive systems
• Knowledge of federal, state and district codes, rules and regulations regarding the use of materials and equipment involved in facility design and maintenance and bus and white fleet maintenance, including OSHA, EPA, ADA, ACC and DOT
• Knowledge of Arizona State procurement preferred
• Skill in supervising the work of maintenance staff
• Skill in reading and using blueprints and schematics
• Skill in safely using hand and power tools
• Ability to interact and communicate with technicians, bus drivers and mechanics
• Skill in light vehicle maintenance
• Skill in using Excel spreadsheet preferred

• High School diploma or GED;
• Five (5) years of experience performing maintenance in at least three of the following major trades areas: painting, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical or mechanical and automotive systems maintenance;
• One (1) year of supervisory experience required.

• Valid Arizona Driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle required
• EPA refrigerant license certification
