Elevate Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students in Elevate Academy have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social well-being. We strive to build our students' confidence and resiliency, and then empower them to build on those foundations to take charge of a thriving future!
We currently seek to hire an Art Teacher to work within our Elevate Academy. We utilize instructional pedagogy that is centered on project-based learning. Thus, we look for a candidate who exemplifies innovation and resourcefulness, to help our students engage with their peers and utilize higher-level thinking skills when working through their projects. Our approach is tailored education as unique as the individuals engaging in it!

Schedule:
Exempt. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Our academic calendar and contracts are YEAR-ROUND, with two-week breaks in between each term.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Understanding of adolescent development, with competence in instructional pedagogy for the adolescent population. Awareness and understanding of Project-Based Learning, or a willingness to learn and grow within this instructional pedagogy. Teaching skills that are engaging and edifying, while balanced with diligence and tenacity. Excellent organizational skills to provide a physical and academic structure conducive to learning. Even temperament, with the ability to mediate situations calmly when students need support due to escalation or frustration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach lesson plans in the assigned subject of Art. Design lesson plans with clearly defined goals and objectives. Educate students, ages 12 to 18, with various academic levels and special needs. Frequently communicate and work with the Academic Advisors to receive updates regarding IEP goals for each student assigned to your classroom. Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development, submitting grade reports to Academic Advisors on time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, or a specific field of study to teach Art. Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply. Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
