Description

JOB SUMMARY The job of the Student Success Coach/Paraprofessional is to assist assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of students, and performing classroom clerical tasks in support of the instructional process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher and provides a method to support and/or reinforce lesson plans.

Administer tests and evaluations, under supervision of teacher (e.g. DRA, DIBELS, observational data for IEP goals, etc.) monitors student progress.

Assists other personnel as required and needed (e.g. instructors, site administration, other para professionals, etc.) ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Confers with teachers assisting in evaluating student progress and/or implementing student objectives.

Implement students' learning and behavior plans to meet students' social and behavioral interventions, health care plans, and/or ensuring compliance with IEPs.

Monitor individual students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, library, playground activities, field trip, bus boarding and exiting, etc.) providing a safe and positive learning environment.

Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, data recording, etc.) to support the teacher and administrator.

Provides appropriate classroom intervention with students under the Teacher's direction (e.g. booster groups, individual instruction, small group instruction, etc.) improving student learning and academic success.

Prepare teaching materials and related reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and documenting student progress.

Report incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining the personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code, administrative and/or school policies.

Participates in various meetings, workshops for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively.
