POSITION INFORMATION:
 

Supervisor:   Title I Department and Building Principal
Employment Period:  11 months
Employment Status: Full-time
Pay Grade: G-116
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience (grant-funded position)
Start Date: 23/24 school year


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Analyzes SOL data to determine benchmarks, establish goals, and monitor improvement in identified Title I schools.
  • Performs ongoing classroom visitations, coaches teachers in the improvement of instructional performance, and monitors improvement plans in identified Title I schools.
  • Demonstrates lessons in classroom situations for observation by teachers in identified Title I schools.
  • Develops and conducts in-service training for teachers regarding instructional strategies, best practices, and specific instructional topics in identified Title I schools.
  • Meets regularly with building administrators regarding classroom practices and provides ongoing feedback in identified Title I schools.
  • Build teacher leadership and capacity by facilitating grade level collaboration to increase content and pedagogical content knowledge. 
  • Focus collaboration on unpacking the standards and using student work and data to develop instructional strategies for student learning. 
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher(s) on a regular basis to plan for whole-group and/or small-group instruction. 
  • Model or co-teach with classroom teachers to support instructional strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to discuss and review assessments and best practices in mathematics as provided by the HCS Math Department. 
  • Facilitate discussions with teachers to analyze and interpret data in order to help identify student needs for differentiated instruction including intervention and enrichment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Teaching license with an endorsement at the elementary school level
  • Extensive and current experience in elementary; five years minimum preferred
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and human relation skills
  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of instructional best practices
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn the HCS math model and programs
  • Demonstrate professionalism by working collaboratively with other staff members
  • Demonstrate team and relationship-building practices with teachers
  • Ability to present material to diverse educational audiences
  • Ability to deliver clear, articulate, and grammatically correct oral and written presentations
  • Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions with the school community
