TITLE: Data Manager
CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
RANGE: Classified Exempt (7EX)
 
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To manage student information and provide technical support for the district’s Student Information System.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)

  • Oversees and maintains the Security, Integrity and Management of the Student Information System.
  • Reviews, extracts and electronically submits student data to ADE.
  • Downloads and reviews results of SAIS submissions for failures and/or warnings.
  • Interacts with District Level Student data personnel and site based Attendance Clerks in order to support student data and compliance requirements for the district.
  • Oversees Data Team members work and maintain team responsibilities.
  • Verify accuracy of Student Data maintained by Attendance Clerks.
  • Prepares reports for District Administration.
  • Verifies and reconciles Student ADM reports from ADE with District Data.
  • Facilitates and supports multiple projects and timeliness.
  • Performs semiannual rollover of student data and setup for new school year.
  • Provides support and training to end users of the Student Information System.
  • Responsible for internal and external audits of registration and attendance data.
  • Develops and maintains District student information procedures, including registration.
  • Set up District calendars at Department of Education.
  • Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences related to Student Data matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of advanced information management software applications and techniques.
  • Knowledge of ADE student data requirements.
  • Knowledge of federal/state legislation and grant programs related to student data.
  • Knowledge of file and record management.
  • Knowledge of managing projects in a collaborative environment.
  • Skill in operating computer hardware and software systems including large databases.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Skill of managing and supporting a team.
  • Skill in overseeing and performing system analysis, and customizing computer software.
  • Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in information technology or database
    administration and two (2) years information technology work experience OR an equivalent
    combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge and skills.
     
    REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
