Under the direction of the Elementary Education Director, the Arts Integration/Instructional Coach will implement BTS Arts across the LEA and at each BTS Arts school in accordance with ICSD policies and procedures and BTS Arts grant guidelines.

Summary and Overall Objective:
The Arts Integration Coach will collaborate with the grant manager and other Elementary Curriculum Specialists to coordinate a high quality arts integration program while supporting elementary educators with teaching the Utah Core Standards and focusing on the district and school improvement plans and goals.
Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities:
Support elementary school BTS specialists with monthly PLC meetings
Provide quarterly training for art related paraprofessionals (prep aides).
Coordinate and provide professional learning events and formal coaching cycles for classroom teachers, building BTS specialists, and school based instructional coaches with a focus on best practices
Arts focused coaching cycles will include a teacher chosen goal related to integration, standards, or instructional strategies (Estimated, 12 cycles first year, 20 cycles second year, and 25 or more cycles each following year)
Coaching cycle can and should include modeling, partner teaching, etc. but must include classroom implementation with a student-focused outcome
Anonymous data will be gathered as evidence of program implementation
Support school administrators and building leadership teams with planning instructional time for art specialty classes and classroom integration that reflect school based instructional goals
Serve as a member of the district leadership team, and attend weekly instructional coach PLC meetings
Create a plan for arts integration in the district and assess annual progress. Plan will support ICSD improvement goals
Assist the grant manager with reports, etc .
Develop and inform parents and community about the district plan for the arts
Collaborate with ICSD Public Relations Representative to increase community participation and advocate for the arts
Collaborate and facilitate quarterly activities in classrooms with a focus on arts integration. These lessons will function as “model classrooms” for teachers to observe as part of an individual or PLC team formal coaching cycle
Coordinate professional learning opportunities with university and private partners
Collaborate with USBE representative in the program

Ability to collaborate with principals, specialists, classroom teachers, and instructional coaches to support collaboration between specialists and classroom teachers to enhance student learning.
Ability to provide clear insight, training, and best implementation practices regarding how specialists take integrated curricula and share it with the school and greater community.
Ability to direct a district committee in creating a district wide plan for arts integration.
Ability to support arts specialists and paraprofessionals in classroom management including: expectations, rules, procedures, proximity, cueing, time limits and transitions, and understanding developmentally appropriate practice.
Ability to provide resources for arts specialists and paraprofessionals that address student behavior needs.
Ability to Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English at a level required for successful job performance.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, community, and staff members.
Ability to effectively present information to parents, community, and students.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge and experience requirements; the machines, tools and equipment used; and any licenses or certifications required.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from four-year college or university.
Preferred Education and Job Related Experience:
Experience working in the BTS Arts program in a K-12 environment.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum of three years teaching experience in an elementary public school
Endorsement in elementary drama, visual arts, music, or dance
Instructional coaching endorsement must completed within 18 months of hire
