Teacher - Preschool @ HVE, open until filled

BASIC FUNCTION Teachers in this position must provide early childhood instruction within the preschool classroom and implement a district-wide curricula and assessment with fidelity. It is essential that teachers in this position understand the unique collaboration with special education programs as well as early intervention. Job Description includes but not limited to: • Knowledge and understanding of early childhood instruction and development of students ranging in ages from 3-5. • Implementing of preschool curricula and assessment requirements with fidelity. • Strong skills in problem-solving, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, team building, and excellent communication skills. • Collaboration between preschool and kindergarten faculty as well as administration through a professional learning community. • Adaptation of classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans with establish lesson plans. • Modeling of age-appropriate conversation, manners, clean-up activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social skills and interpersonal behavior. • Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula. • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence. • Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers. • Other duties as assigned.
