CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION | ||||||||||||
CLASS SUMMARY: This Deaf Mentor Program Manager (DMPM) reports to the Director of Deaf Programs and is responsible to facilitate mentoring, education, and support of families with children who are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind from the birth to five. The DMPM guides parents that are referred and eligible to develop and meet family language and communication goals to work on with their assigned Deaf Mentors. The DMPM, schedules, trains and evaluates staff, as well as designs, implements, and coordinates mentor activities. Beyond the staff, the DMPM also establishes and maintains partnerships within the community with various stakeholders to introduce families to different deaf/hard of hearing/deafblind communities. This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality of family/student files per Federal/State regulations to ensure compliance. As well as continuing professional growth through coursework, workshops, and conducting VCSL training, assessments and/or supports. Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the noted duties and/or other related duties. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
