Description
Job Title: Career and Technical Education Lead
Exemption Status: Exempt/Professional
Reports to: Supervisor of Career and Technical Education
Dept./School: Middle Schools and High Schools
Primary Purpose:
To support and participate in the development of the CTE department vision and goals. This includes working collaboratively with administrators, counselors, student's services personnel, and teachers to ensure the delivery of quality Career Technical Education.
Qualifications:
Education/Licensure:
Master’s degree
Valid Tennessee license in Instructional Leadership and any CTE program area endorsement.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Tennessee Career and Technical Education and Federal Perkins V content.
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction within CTE courses and the role of the CTE program in a school district and community.
Ability to instruct and lead educators of principles and practices implementing programs and multiple pathways.
Ability to manage teacher experiences within CTE.
Strong organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Experience:
Work experience within the past five years in one of the following: classroom teacher in a CTE program of study or professional support in a CTE educational setting.

- Determine program enrollment/capacity
- Assist School Counselors with student scheduling
- Update CTE program enrollment and other associated data
- Work with CTE Director to create and oversee budgets
- Complete purchase order requests and receive on orders
- Maintain capitalized inventory
- Coordinate recruitment events
- Create flyers & marketing materials
- Conduct new teacher onboarding
- Provide instructional coaching
- Manage program Advisory Boards
- Scheduling
- Agendas
- Communication
- Minutes
- Business partner communication
- Supervise industry certification testing
- Paperwork/documentation
- Test administration
- Data input
- Reporting
- Serve as business/industry liaison for district
- Assist sponsors with CTSO event scheduling
- Lead internal program review
- Develop Size, Scope and Quality Indicator (SSQI) Portfolios
- Identify instructional resources
- Construct CTE website and social media posts
- Complete value-added reporting
- Conduct CTE Teacher observations/evaluations
- Chaperone field study/CTSO events
- Identify program equipment needs/cycle
- Provide professional development
- Assist with CTE teacher job postings and hiring process
- Communicate with parents/guardians
