EARLY LEARNING SUPERVISING TEACHER DEAF/HH- PRESCHOOL
 
 
Location: Phoenix 
Employee Status: Permanent
Hours Per Week: 40
Work Calendar: 10-Month
Pay Rate: $42,545-$81,447
$4,967 Supervisor Stipend

 
CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION
CLASS SUMMARY:
To provide instructional leadership, under the direction of the Regional Director, for a team of itinerant teachers and staff responsible for the education of students who are: deaf; hard of hearing; blind; visually impaired, placed in mainstream programs in the public schools.
Observation and evaluation of teacher performance to assist teachers with their effectiveness in providing instructional services by coaching in teaching strategies, methodologies, behavior management, educational and diagnostic best practices.
Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities from time to time as assigned by the supervisor.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Master’s degree in education with coursework specific to sensory impairments. Supervisory experience to support staff development through coaching, mentoring focused through observations, instructional development, and evaluation of performance for increased effectiveness related to student outcomes.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to pass FBI and State Background check
  • Defensive driver training programs to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on state business
  • State of Arizona Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
  • State of Arizona Supervisor Certificate within 2 years of hire or current State of Arizona Principal Certificate
