CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION | ||||||||||
CLASS SUMMARY: To provide instructional leadership, under the direction of the Regional Director, for a team of itinerant teachers and staff responsible for the education of students who are: deaf; hard of hearing; blind; visually impaired, placed in mainstream programs in the public schools. Observation and evaluation of teacher performance to assist teachers with their effectiveness in providing instructional services by coaching in teaching strategies, methodologies, behavior management, educational and diagnostic best practices. Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities from time to time as assigned by the supervisor. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in education with coursework specific to sensory impairments. Supervisory experience to support staff development through coaching, mentoring focused through observations, instructional development, and evaluation of performance for increased effectiveness related to student outcomes.
