Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and gratifying employment opportunity with our agency. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as a Special Education content teacher for the Blind/Visually Impaired High School Classroom located in Ogden.
Principal Duties: As an Educator you will: -Perform the duties of a classroom Instructor for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, Blind/Visually Impaired (B/VI) division. Focused specifically on content instruction; math, language arts, etc. This role works in partnership with a cooperating high school teacher who focuses on students vision services and instruction related to visual impairment needs. -This role does not case manage the IEP, but is an active participant in the IEP -Provide appropriate programming for blind/visually impaired students in academic content areas -Prepare and write lesson plans for each student -Generate information/reports on children as appropriate -Follow appropriate curriculums, as provided -Take a collaborative role at staffing meetings, IEP meetings, student transitions, and aid in IEP success through appropriate assessments, including assessment of vision functioning, goal development, and follow-through of the IEP -Attend training sessions and workshops as assigned by program administrators -Be involved with training colleagues in skill development programming -Coordinate with B/VI supervisor and program director -Performs other duties as assigned.
